SPACE SHUTTLE w/FUEL TANK &BOOSTER MONOGRAM KIT 1:72 Bob Crippen Signature Plate. On April 12, 1981 the world's first reusable space craft the SLS sat atop the launch pad at the Kennedy Space complex. Fully fueled and ready for her first launch two American astronauts were strapped into the cockpit ready and waiting for the candles to be lit. Except for non-powered glide tests by the Enterprise no one knew for certain how the SLS would perform.

After orbital flight the orbiter safely glided back to earth and successfully landed proving out the SLS performed to all expectations. Two of the astronauts in the cockpit were Bob Crippen and John Young. This HUGE 1/72 scale model of the Space Shuttle contains a signature plate signed by Bob Crippen at the Kennedy Space Center.

This 1/72 scale model of the SLS is fully detailed and has features to numerous to mention. We are of the opinion this model is the best 1/72 representation of the SLS to date. Prior modeling experience is recommended. Note: to replicate the first historic launch of the SLS the main fuel tank should be painted white and not orange. Includes one model kit, signed signature plate, decals and instructions.

This is a plastic model kit that needs to be built and finished. Completed model stands 31 1/2" and has a wingspan of 13/1/2". Box has signs of shelf/storage wear.
